Alex is a trustworthy and very smart professional that I had the pleasure to work with early in my entrepreneurial journey. Alex believed in my co-founder and I as well as our idea early on and decided to invest in us through GFC. As an investor, Alex was of high value add, always here to help us when needed with sharp and insightful knowledge and connections. This is why we later on invited him to serve as a Board Member. Alex was a partner who managed to deliver a lot of impact even with little time. From the beginning, he showed a quality that few in the industry have in being able to positively balance the focus on the financial result (as expected for an investor) and alignment with the purpose of the founders and the business (purpose is a beaten word this days, but when taken seriously it is just as important as short-term financial returns). Venture Capital as a whole and the community of entrepreneurs would be better off with more professionals like Alex.
Alex’s support was absolutely decisive for the success of my pre-seed fundraising. Even reading all the articles, books, courses, etc. on the subject, it was only by experiencing the “VC game” that I came across the details of where the devil lives, and relying on Alex’s experience made all the difference. Also, while pitching to investors, all parties naturally have their own agendas and biases, and it was Alex who was on my side of the table the entire time. With this support, I not only arrived at better decisions, but I was also able to navigate the emotional side of fundraising, which is heavier than the books say.
